Announcement: Annual Flagship Event: Addressing Sustainability Challenges in the CG&R Industry – Feb. 21st, 2019

We are excited to announce that Baker & McKenzie’s Consumer Goods & Retail (CG&R) Industry Group, along with the support of the UN Global Impact, is hosting its annual flagship event at the UN Headquarters in New York on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

Sustainability in the CG&R Industry will the main focus of the event, and Baker & McKenzie is delighted to welcome UN Global Compact CEO & Executive Director Lise Kingo and Fordham Law School Adjunct Professor and Co-Director of Sustainability Initiative Jeffrey Smith as the keynote speakers.

Two panel discussions will address Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations in the C-Suite and with the Board of Directors and the evolving role of the General Counsel as Sustainability and ESG issues become a corporate focus (including discussions around the Sustainable Development Goals, their prioritization and implementation).

Jonathan D. Cocker heads the Firm’s Environmental Practice Group in Canada and is an active member of firm Global Consumer Goods & Retail and Energy, Mining and Infrastructure groups. Mr. Cocker provides advice and representation to multinational companies on a variety of environment, health and safety matters, including product content, dangerous goods transportation, GHS, regulated wastes, consumer product and food safety, extended producer responsibilities and contaminated lands matters. He appears before both EHS tribunals and civil courts across Canada.
