Baker McKenzie’s annual International Environmental Conference will take place in Chicago on June 22 and 23, bringing together Global Environmental Group attorneys from around the world and leading industry experts to discuss current environmental law and policy issues impacting global business operations.
We are pleased to have Scott Fulton, President of the Environmental Law Institute, join us as our keynote speaker along with a number of distinguished industry experts, including Chris Walker, North American Director at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Richard DeSanti, Chief Environmental & Safety Counsel at Chevron, and Greg Schilz, Executive Vice President at JLT Specialty USA. Having served in senior environmental leadership roles within both Republican and Democratic administrations, Mr. Fulton will offer his perspectives during his keynote address on the current political climate and the impact of changing political regimes on environmental policy development, government enforcement and companies operating in a global marketplace.
Topics of discussion at the Conference by our global team and industry experts will include, among others, the status of global environmental enforcement and regulatory developments, litigation and liability risks for global enterprises from NGOs and before global human rights tribunals, the relevance of corporate sustainability and climate change initiatives amidst shifting political winds, the future of the Paris Agreement, and the scope and substance of private and government led global product regulatory initiatives.
